Chiropractic Help is Something My Physician Should Have Told Me About Early on

November 20th, 2017

I told my doctor that I was tired of suffering in pain. He said, ‘I understand. I’m going prescribe you a painkiller.” This is also what he did at my last appointment and the appointment before that as well. It just wasn’t good enough for me anymore. I’m not against prescription medications, but I felt there had to be some other type of help for my problem. Researching online really helped in a way that my doctor did not because I learned that I can go to a chiropractor in San Jose for help with the pain. I wanted to try one out before spending more time and money on going to my regular doctor again.

One day, I decided that I wanted to get out more. The very first time that I planned an outing on my own, I slipped and fell. I had heard that there are local tour buses that you can take to some of the national parks in my state. Not wanting to drive along on steep, cliff-lined roads by myself, I opted for one of the bus tours. It was raining lightly outside on the day that my tour was booked. While getting off the bus, I tripped and then slowly slid down the bus stairs before landing in a heap on the ground. I hobbled around in pain when we were off the bus and was so grateful every time that it was time to get back on the bus.

I went to my physician within days of the tour that I took. At first, I was so grateful for the painkillers that he prescribed me. Over time, I realized that I couldn’t live on pain pills for the rest of my life. I wanted to get to the bottom of the problem and make what was causing the pain to go away for good. The chiropractor that I go to now has been the first ray of hope that I have had after my original fall and the many months of pain that I went through.
